Manager Elo

Gaffer Score

Your manager rating across every league you finish. Self-calibrating Elo: beat someone with a higher rating, gain more. Beat a beginner, gain less.

How Gaffer Score works

Everyone starts at 1200. When a league settles, your rating moves based on your finish vs the other managers in the league - beat a high-rated rival and gain a lot, beat a beginner and gain a little. Lose to a beginner and you lose a lot.

Paid and free ratings are tracked separately. Paid leagues carry more skill signal, so they move your rating more aggressively. The leaderboard above defaults to the paid track.

Tier breakpoints: Bronze < 1200, Silver 1200-1499, Gold 1500-1799, Elite 1800-2199, Legend 2200+.

Questions people ask

What is a good Gaffer Score?

Everyone starts at 1200. Bronze is below 1200, Silver 1200 to 1499, Gold 1500 to 1799, Elite 1800 to 2199 and Legend 2200 and up.

How do I raise my Gaffer Score?

Finish above the other managers in your leagues. When a league settles, the rating moves on your finish against everyone in it: beating a higher-rated manager gains the most, and losing to a lower-rated one costs the most.

Do free and paid leagues count the same?

No. Paid and free ratings are tracked separately, and paid leagues move the rating more because they carry more skill signal.

Is the Gaffer Score the same as an FPL rank?

No. A rank in the official game compares points across millions of managers; the Gaffer Score compares your finishes against the managers you actually played in Gaffer leagues.
